The Jonica Multiservizi Spa on Wednesday 11 July 2018, at the Piazza dei Caduti in Roccella Jonica, inaugurated the "Water House" with the cutting of the ribbon.

The main objective of the "Water House" is to promote the quality of the water supplied by the aqueduct, on which Jonica Multiservizi continuously analyzes by keeping the withdrawal points and networks monitored through a precise control plan.

 

WHAT'S THIS

"The water house" is a public drinking water supply point, operating 24 hours a day, connected directly to the aqueduct network. It is equipped with an easily accessible withdrawal station and can supply both natural and carbonated chilled water.

 

HOW DOES IT WORK

It is sufficient to go to the house equipped with containers / bottles and use the appropriate card (or coins from 5 cents to € 2), then press the dispensing button of your choice to withdraw the preferred type of water.

 

HOW MUCH A LITER OF WATER COSTS

The cost of a liter of water is only 5 cents (both natural and carbonated). Considering an average consumption of 1,000 liters per year for a family of three and an average price of 25 cents per liter of mineral water on the market, the annual expenditure is around 250 euros with savings for families of around 200 euros per year.

 

THE WATER HOUSE HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT

Drinking mineral water determines energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions especially for the production, transport and disposal of plastic bottles. Consider that for every 100,000 liters of water withdrawn from the House of water in place of the purchase of mineral water in PET plastic bottles of one and a half liters, savings of:

• 8,000 gr of CO2 not released into the environment

• 66.667 1.5 liter PET plastic bottles

• 883 liters of oil saved for their production

• 3,000 kilograms less PET to dispose of

• 4,167 liters of fuel saved for transportation.

 

WHICH TREATMENTS ARE MADE BEFORE DISPENSING

To make the palate more pleasant and closer to the tastes and average habits of consumers, a sophisticated water filtration process is carried out, combined with ultraviolet sterilization: the composite filter is able to eliminate chlorine and all odors , flavors and colors that may be present, while the ultraviolet treatment guarantees the microbiological purity of the water up to the final dispensing phase.

 

HOW TO COLLECT AND STORE DISPENSED WATER

In order to ensure high food safety, it is advisable to have clean containers (bottles), then take the water and keep it in the refrigerator. To maintain the organoleptic and chemical-physical characteristics unchanged, as well as to prevent the loss of any carbonation, the water should preferably be consumed within 48 hours of sampling.
